This is a non-political movement. The 9-12 Project is designed to bring us  all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001. The day after America was  attacked we were not obsessed with Red States, Blue States or political parties.  We were united as Americans, standing together to protect the greatest nation  ever created.

America Is Good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than
I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the
ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind
and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but
there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who
I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to
share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for ME.     NINE PRINCIPLES

surroundpeople“Flag Day” Downtown Walk in Asheville

Emergency Action PLAN  GENERAL

The Fourth of July was traditionally celebrated as America's birthday, but the idea of an annual day specifically celebrating the Flag is believed to have first originated in 1885. Flag Day - the anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777 - was officially established by the Proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson on May 30th, 1916. While Flag Day was celebrated in various communities for years after Wilson's proclamation, it was not until August 3rd, 1949, that President Truman signed an Act of Congress designatingJune 14th of each year as National Flag Day.

The WNC 9-12 Project wishes to support Asheville downtown businesses on this special day with an organized downtown walk along 4 separate routes leading to businesses sponsoring “Flag Day” with a show of their own patriotism and pride in America. More details..

We started out as three dozen from all over the country, several  walks of life and fires in our bellies for preserving the America we  so blessedly inherited from our Founding Fathers.  Our instincts tell us that  MOST of us, regardless of political affiliations or religious doctrines, feel  the same way. We believe that Flag Day 2009is a good day to demonstrate our  allegiance, determination and faith with our Pledges to the Flag as One Nation  Under God.

On June 14, 2009 we come together as a country to publically declare  our collective belief that America is the land of the free and the home of the  brave. We honor our Forefathers, our Military men and women who have shed their  blood and their loved ones who have shed their tears so that to this day we  remain the most extraordinary Republic on earth.

One of the main concerns about Flag Day Rallies is that they remain  NON-Partisan and NON-Doctrine (i.e. not be hijacked by any political party or  church).  We are PRO-America.  We can disagree on ideologies and issues  later...AFTER we take back our country from politicians who continue to vote in  many cases opposite of what we've asked of them.  From the first Bail-Outs that  were passed to the recent votes for Stimulus (Spending) Packages our politicians  have betrayed us. Event Description:
I couldn't think of a cool, simple,  descriptive name to give this interesting event. I guess we can refer to this as  "Roadside 9-12ving" with signs...spreading the message...providing a vital  Outreach function to our area, through public display. Charles and Mark came up  with the idea...where we can write up a very simple, easy to read message...in  the form of individual words...or maybe just 2 or three...each on a piece of  poster board...that makes up a full sentence...that you can read as you drive  down the road. We can use this as an information, event promotion, campaign, or  public awareness tool. We are planning on just going ahead and doing the first  one on the 30th of this month. So, we have 2 weeks to come up with message,  produce it on poster board, choose a traffic travel route, and get our happy lil  butts roadside for a couple of hours on a Saturday to get out the 9-12 word. We  will need a dozen or more folks to do this right. We will do this with 2  people...but it simply won't work as well. We need you folks to participate.  Please try to come.
